Corkscrew Scarf
Discontinued.
This digital pattern is no longer available online.
Imagine stacking a bunch of bow ties on top of each other with their skinny middles and their wide sides. All that fabric on the edges would have to go somewhere, right? Well, it does. When you use that concept and knit this scarf, you work short rows to increase the length of the edges while the center stays tiny, and just like magic, it twists itself into a corkscrew as you knit it. This is a deceptively easy technique that will leave a lot of people wondering how you ever got a piece of knitting to do that. It is also very fun to wear around your neck. When feeling the softness of the 50/50 silk/merino Raven Frog Elegante yarn, the most common description is “This is like butter”.
