Cornish Pasty
Is there anything more Cornish than the humble pasty?? More than yarn and stuffing, this fun project is a little taste of Cornwall, guaranteed to evoke happy memories!
Worked in continuous rounds with a textured ‘crimped’ edge, this pattern is suitable for all levels from confident beginners upwards. Written in English using US terminology, photo and video stitch tutorials are included.
You will need:
-approx 9m/10yds DK/light worsted/#3 weight yarn. I used 4g Sirdar Happy Cotton (100% cotton, 43m/47yds per 20g).
-3mm hook
-pinch of toy stuffing (approx 1g)
-stitch marker
When made using suggested yarn, finished pasty measures approx 7cm (2 3/4”) long and 3.5cm (1 1/2”) wide - perfect for a keychain.
Size can easily be increased using thicker yarn and a larger hook. When made using Yarnsmiths Snug As A Bug (Super Chunky, 100% Polyester, 150m per 300g) and 8mm hook, pasty measures 23cm (9”) long and 11cm (4 1/2”) wide.
