Corona Summer Vest
Corona is a sleeveless ring neck vest top. Worked from the top down this is a fun, practical crochet summer top.
With a keyhole split down the back between the shoulders and a loose airy drape at the front, this top will keep you looking and feeling cool all summer.
The pattern is worked top down, so you can adjust the length and body shaping as you go to ensure it is the right fit for you.
Materials
The pattern is worked using sock / 4ply / fingering weight yarn.
The item pictured uses unbelievawool sock yarn (75% merino, 25% nylon) but any yarn of a similar weight which meets gauge will be suitable.
Depending on you chosen size, you will need 175 - 375g / 735 - 1570m
This top was designed with this hand dyed yarn in mind. I have had 3 hanks in my stash since last summer and was waiting for something special to use them for.I love how it worked up and I used less than 2 hanks for the top pictured (size S) so have left overs to play with! So if you have those hand dyed hanks just sitting there waiting for a project, perhaps it’s time to give them a go?
Skill Level
This pattern would suit intermediate crocheters or confident beginners.
It uses linked crochet stitches which I have described in the pattern and also created tutorials for on my blog.
I recommend the use of place markers (or yarn scraps).
The design is worked top down so you can adjust it to fit as you go and I have included a photo guide at the end to give visual guidance for the construction.
Sizing
The pattern is written for sizes XS-3X and approximate finished measurements and gauge information are given within the pattern.
The pattern is written using US crochet terms with UK equivalents given in the abbreviations.
