Corrieshalloch Top
A ballet-wrap style summer top with gathers below the shoulders and a beautiful lace design.
Corrieshalloch Gorge is a stunning location in Scotland with one of the country’s highest and most spectacular waterfalls. We love how the plunging neckline and frothy lace at the hem remind us of the breathtaking natural landscape.
We work from the top down using a simple construction. We cast on stitches at the shoulder and work down the back to the underarm. Stitches are picked up at each shoulder, gathers are worked after a few inches, and we work increases at the inside edge making a ballet wrap shape. We join all stitches at the underarm and include a little waist shaping as we work down the body, working a lace pattern near the hem. Finally, at the hem we join the two fronts with a three needle bind off.
