What could be sweeter to sleep in than a hand-stitched nightie?  Loosely knit out of linen yarn, and sewn to a fabric skirt, my version is soft, cool on summer nights and very romantic. 



Simple-to-work lace decorates the off the shoulder sleeves and hip, and vertical ladder stitch columns recall the boned ribbing fo the corset, but with none of the constriction.  It is shown here over a flouncy petticoat for still more girly appeal.  Alternatively, leave the skirt off completely for a lacy top to layer over a tank and jeans.
