Corset Socks
The corsetlike lacing up the back of the leg allows for an adjustable custom fit without complicated pattern shaping. A solid sole, toe, and heel lend practicality to an otherwise fabulously frivolous sock.
There was an error in the printed magazine. In row 7 of calf/leg you should end with a dc made into the last actual dc of row 6- not into any if the ch stitches at the end of the row (even though some are counted as a dc, we don’t work into them on this row). Basically you are stopping short in the stitch pattern with one square/hole of lace left unworked.
HOOK Size B/1 (2.25 mm) and D/3 (3.25 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
NOTIONS St markers (m); yarn needle; 2 pieces of 1/4” grosgrain ribbon, each cut to 3 yd.
GAUGE Lace patt top-of-foot directions through Row 12 = 4 1/4” wide and 4” tall with smaller hook. 20 sts and 17 rows = 4” in esc worked in turned rows with larger hook.
