Luxuriousness and coziness are shared in Valley Yarns Cortland, an impressive-looking, yet easy-to-knit women’s hat using Deerfield and Southampton. A lace overlay adds an extra dimension of visual interest and color. The hat is first knit in Deerfield and then switched to Southampton by picking up stitches around the purl round. Valley Yarns Deerfield is a glorious blend of baby alpaca and silk that has a delicate feel and appearance. The silk provides extra durability and a slight sheen while the alpaca provides a soft halo. Light and airy, Valley Yarns Southampton is a luxurious and super-soft blend of mohair and silk with a fabulous halo. Cortland is a lovely union of both! The lace pattern is charted and written out.
