Cosy Balaclava is a quick knitted project for women suitable for advanced beginners or intermediate knitters. For a super soft balaclava you can use the recommended yarn combination or as long as you obtain the gauge you can use any leftover yarn from your stash.

SUGGESTED YARN:
1 skein of Drops Air (50 g = 150 m / 1.8 oz = 164 yds) and 1 skein of Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk (25 g = 140 m / 0.9 oz=153 yds) or any yarn to obtain the gauge. One strand of each yarn is held together.

GAUGE:
14 stitches and 19 rows in stocking stitch 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) using the needles No. 7 mm (UK 2),
after washing and blocking.

NEEDLES:
Circular needles No. 5 mm (UK 6, US 8), 40 cm and 60 cm (or only 80 cm if using the magic loop method) and circular needles No. 7 mm (UK 2), 80 cm long, two markers and tapestry needle.

SIZE: One size. Fits head circumferences 54-58 cm.

ABOUT THIS PATTERN:
Cosy Balaclava is worked from bottom up. First part of the balaclava is worked in the round with
twisted 1+1 rib, then back and forth on a circular needles. Top part is closed with invisible Kitchener stitch. Face-framing is knitted with 1+1 rib folded and sewn on the inside. Techniques used in this pattern are explained in video tutorials available on my YouTube channel.
