Baby, it’s cold outside! but any baby will be warm and snug in this reversible blanket knit in a traditional patchwork Log Cabin design. Worked in one piece without seaming and using nothing but knit and purl stitches, with a slipped stitch to form a nice border, this pattern is easy enough for beginners.

Finished size depends on yarn and gauge. The pattern can be adjusted for a scarf / shawl / table runner / blanket / cushion cover by just adding or removing pattern repeats. Photos show a blanket with:

  • finished size (blocked) 34” x 41” / 86cm x 105cm
  • using 985yd / 900m DK weight yarn
  • made on US size 8 / 5mm needles
  • with gauge of 18 sts x 25 rows over 4” / 10cm in stockinette stitch

This pattern has been tech edited and test knit.
