This cable headband is made using a UK weight standard Chunky yarn and can be adjusted to fit any head size by making the headband longer or shorter in length. I also find that the cable grips well to the head and doesn’t tend slip down.

I wrote the pattern as a introduction to knitting cables for my daughter, with a small and fairly quick project to learn how to cable.

With this style of plaited, cable you will be using the two main ways of cabling, (cabling forward and back), with just one line of the pattern in each row. The headband is edged with a slip stitch to give a nice neat edging.
