This is a quick and easy pattern which covers sizes suitable for the 3 different age groups of Team Team Hope Shoeboxes, ages 2-4, 5-9 and 10-14.

With a K2, P2 rib pattern throughout and very little shaping it’s an ideal project to have to hand for when you have even a few minutes to spend knitting.

No need to sweat the small stuff either, if you get carried away and knit an extra few rows that’s no problem, just means it will have a slightly bigger turn-up making it extra cosy.

I love making these hats with 2 strands of dk yarn held together but a single strand of chunky yarn can be used instead.
