The Cosy Cocoon Cardi has been designed as a versatile wardrobe staple that can see you through the seasons. A perfect layering piece on the cooler days and a lightweight short-sleeved cardi when the days warm up.
Designed to be worn without fastenings, there is 8 to 10 inches of ease across the bust and loose fitted armholes. The majority of this cardi is worked in turned rows. The back shoulder portion is created first, the left and right front sections are then added directly to this. Once the depth of the armholes is achieved, the cardi is joined under the arm and more body length is added from here. Finally, ribbing is added to the sleeves as well as the bottom of the cardi and the neckline. This ribbing gives a slight cocoon shape and tapers in the sleeves. There is little need for seaming throughout this project, just those pesky ends to weave in at the end.
