The Cosy Together Shawl pattern is beginner friendly and it’s available in UK and US terms and it contains written instructions and photos.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: beginner

MATERIALS AND TOOLS:
DK/light worsted weight yarn. Any weight yarn would work, however it will affect the size of the shawl, and you may need to complete more or fewer repeats of the pattern to achieve the size you desire,
5mm (H) crochet hook, or size required to achieve the gauge, or one that matches your yarn weight, if you choose to use a different weight yarn, however I would suggest that you go a hook size up in any case (please read Shawl Construction & Notes for more detail),
scissors,
yarn needle.

TOTAL YARN QUANTITIES:
239g/710m/776y

STITCHES USED:
CH = chain
SL ST = slip stitch
DC = double crochet (US single crochet)
TR = treble (US double crochet)
LONG TR = long treble (US long double crochet)
