The idea of the Cottage Core Blanket is that you can mix and match square designs and colour. This is because you may find particular squares boring after a while, or you are not yet ready for certain techniques (although this pattern is designed with video tutorials of all stitches, so very beginner friendly!). The Cottage Core blanket pattern would also make for a great stash buster, with lots of ideas included and a tutorial for striping colours.

Different designs use different amounts of yarn, some slightly more, others (like the honeycomb square) significantly.

Each square states how many grams and metres are used (with the suggested yarn). This will help you to decide if you have enough yarn for your chosen squares or need to use more than the sample states.
