The Crochet Blanket Pattern - Cottage Spring Garden blanket was inspired by a traditional English Cottage Garden in Spring, as the flowers are beginning to bloom in full force. Through the use of crochet, I have tried to ‘capture on canvas’ the scenery of a cottage garden through the penny windows from inside the cottage. Each individual granny square becomes a mini painting in itself, capturing the scene of one part of the garden. As the Granny Squares join together they intertwine with one another, creating a full vista of the garden.

To create this blanket, I have used cable crochet and motifs to replicate the natural textures and shapes of each flower, foliage and stem. Within this design you will find nine Spring Flowers of all shapes, colours and textures, which have been combined to create a colourful blooming blanket like no other you have seen before. I hope you enjoy creating your own Crochet Heirloom blanket.

This pattern is split into sections intro, contents, stitches (each stitch has a link to a video tutorial), individual crochet flower granny squares, construction, trim with many notes to help you along the way.

The Crochet blanket consists of 180 granny squares, each with a step by step written tutorial. The main colour will used 4000meters of DK yarn the rest of the colours can be used from stash or change the colours to your own liking.
