The Cottagecore Throw is my version of the perfect, scrappy blanket. The blanket uses a version of my Briochet stitch that creates a gorgeous and perfectly double sided blanket. The Briochet stitch is used in my Briochet Shawl and Briochet Cowl patterns to create a true crocheted Briochet, with the same stretch and look of a knit. Up close, the Cottagecore Throw looks as though composed of knit stitches.
And, the best part is that it’s crocheted from corner to corner. This means no long chains and guessing blanket lengths and gauge from the get-go. In fact, feel free to crochet the blanket out of any yarn weight and with any hook size! Once your blanket reaches the desired length, simply begin the decrease instructions. This pattern is easy to memorize and once you get into the swing of it, I hope you can see yourself making many more in the future! I welcome you to play with color placement, or use random scraps of fingering weight yarn, like I did, for a cute cottage look and the perfect miniskein and leftover yarn scrappy stash buster. I hope you love this cottage-y and cozy project, and I cannot wait to see your version of the pattern! -SamBee
