These socks are made with a bulky cotton so that they are absorbant and work up fast. They are intended to be a tight fit when you put them on, as the cotton will give just a little and become loose. If you make your socks too loose, they’ll flap around the sole of your foot. That said, as they are cotton, you can wash in hot water and tumble dry and they’ll tighten up.

The Elenna cotton is a bit thicker than the Hampton, but I think Hampton has been discontinued. The pattern is more guided by inches/cm than rows and stitches, making it easily adjustable.

The pattern will use about half a skein of the Hampton/Elenna, or one 50g ball of cotton DK - it’s a great stash buster if you’ve got some half balls to use up!

The socks I’ve made have fitted US size 6 to 9. One pattern tester said “I wear a 10.5 (US) shoe so the 6.5mm hook worked best for me” and she used Yarn Bee’s Glowing with a 5, 5.5, and 6.5.
