Cottontail Socks
These are a super cute design, featuring white rabbits around the sock of the leg, these are worked using two stranded colourwork and a bobble stitch for the tail. There is a pink and green stripe pattern running the length of the leg and foot of the sock.
The pattern is written for 3 sizes, small (UK 5-6), medium (UK 6-7) and large (UK 7-8), but the it is very easily customizable to fit your own foot. As you’re knitting from the cuff down, you can slip your work over your foot to check the fit of the leg, heel and foot as you go.
Suitable for knitters with some knowledge of sock knitting and stranded colourwork - joining in the round, knitting with up to 2 strands of yarn at once, a flap and gusset heel and kitchener stitch. There is a link provided for a video tutorial to help you with the Kitchener stitch to graft the toe.
I’ve knitted these socks using Drops Nord and Drops Fabel, it’s lovely to work with and very reasonably priced as well as easy to get hold of in balls of 50g. You will need 1 ball of Apple Green and 25g of Pink in Drops Fabel, as well as 25g of Goldenrod and 10g each of Off White and Fog in Drops Nord.
Any 4 ply sock yarn will do, however, the gauge I’ve worked to is 32 stitches to 41 rows using 2.5mm double pointed needles - you can use a circular needle and the magic loop method if you prefer.
I have tried to make this pattern as user friendly as possible, but will provide you with my email address when you download the pattern, if you have any issues at all, do get in touch and I will be happy to help.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my listing, if you have any questions before purchasing, do get in touch.
Happy Knitting! x
