I hate using a cable needle but love the look of cables. Sooo I found a cable looking stitch that consists entirely of lace knitting.

You can make this as small or as large as you like. I’ve made it in Cascade 220 fingering and made 5 repeats for a relatively large shawl, I used Berroco Quechua with 3 repeats for a medium size, and I also made a sample with just one repeat that is itty bitty. Its entirely up to you.
