This KAL and our hand dyed yarn used in the project (Winter Morning by Lucky Violet Color Co.) are inspired by the lovely costumes and artistry of Downton Abbey … my humble tribute to Downton Abbey.

In this KAL we will be knitting a simple, elegant somewhat crescent shaped shoulder wrap from the bottom up. The pattern is designed to be knit easily while watching television and requires no special skills. You will use knits and purls, there will be a lovely lower border that looks a bit like pleats and that will evolve into a stockinette body with an occasional line of garter stitch or eyelets for a bit of delicate visual interest.

You will love our “Betty” yarn (Lucky Violet Color Co. is our family’s hand dyed yarn brand). It is a very soft, delightful yarn to knit with. We have a variety of colorways to choose from, which we dye in small batches. You only need one hank for this project.

I will release the pattern details each Sunday morning in a pattern update at Ravelry (by noon Eastern Standard Time), with the first release being January 10, 2016. I will post progress photos of my project with each pattern update. Note: The complete pattern has now been released.

The KAL membership and pattern is free with purchase of any yarn in our online store (we will send the pattern to you for free as a gift at Ravelry following your purchase).

You can also get the KAL membership and pattern for $2.00 in our Ravelry store without yarn purchase.

It would be great to see your yarn choices and projects shared in my Ravelry group.
