I created this sweet cat with my grand babies in mind.
What follows is the basic pattern for Country Cat but you can switch up wool from fingering, DK or worsted and the cat just gets smaller or larger. This example uses a mid weight, mohair and creates a Cat about 21 cm tall.
The needle size for your chosen yarn is small so that the fabric of the cat stays tight and firm and allows for a child’s enthusiastic loving.
The clothing can be removed, letting the cat stand alone as a soft toy, or you can create an endless supply of “dress up” outfits. I provide a pattern for a dress.
I embroider the eyes onto the toy because I love to embroider and I think it makes the eyes more realistic. Pictures are given for you to easily create eyes with basic stitches.
The felting of the muzzle, nose, paws and ears makes the Country Cat different from other patterns available and lets you make accent colours for your cat. Your pattern guides you through finishing touches.
