Country Kitchen Canisters
Battling kitchen drawers overflowing with the many tools and cooking utensils I own, I was searching for a way to have the items I use all the time readily available and get rid of the nightmare I opened up every time I needed something out of that particular drawer. I’m a country kind of gal with a small kitchen, a love of crochet, and a love of containers, so naturally my mind turned here for an answer. I came up with these country canisters and now the large canister sits next to my stove filled with all the tools I use frequently; wooden spoons, whisks, spatulas, etc. The load in the drawer was lightened and problem solved! And what a great way to recycle those metal coffee cans too!
These country canisters can be used all through the house, not just for kitchen tools, so use YOUR imagination and personalize them! A place to drop the mail and the keys when you come in the door (I think of my husband and his wallet and glasses cases that he’s always looking for). Place a plant pot inside or a vase of flowers for a pretty perk up, even artificial flower arrangements. What about hiding desk or art supplies? And….what about using it as a pretty way to corral the all too often missing in action remote controls!
They would also make wonderful gifts. Arrange some cooking utensils and a pretty kitchen towel/ dishcloth set inside, maybe a favorite recipe and you’ve got a very thoughtful, economical gift.
