Country Number Baby Blanket
I designed this blanket for knitting with Rowan Cotton Glace, a 100% cotton yarn which I like to use for babies and children because it doesn’t irritate, has a wide colour palette and is hard wearing and washes well.
The pattern is written as colour charts and written instructions. There are 10 “picture” squares reflecting a country theme and 10 one shade squares in textured knitting (5 designs x 2). They are knitted in strips then sewn together vertically. The edging is sewn on last.
The instructions are for one size only, 60cm x 75cm before the edging is added. The yarn amounts are for the blanket as it appears in the photo. Some of the shades have since been discontinued but similar shades are available in this yarn.
Materials: Because I like to use a lot of colour in my designs you will only need small amounts of some shades.
5 x 50g 725 Ecru; 1 x 50g 814 Shoot; 1 x 50g 827 Chalk; 1 x 50g 730 Oyster; small amounts of: 727 Black; 726 Bleached; 724 Bubbles; 828 Heather; 741 Poppy; 832 Persimmon; 812 Ivy; 825 Buttercup. Note: 1 x 50g ball of 814 Shoot is just sufficient, however you may want to buy 2 x 50g balls to be certain of having enough yarn in this shade.
My patterns are for personal use only, please do not knit up my designs for re-sale.
