Courtenay Sweater
About the Pattern
The Courtenay Sweater is a great transitional piece for spring and fall. Its gentle A-line shape is meant to fit where it counts and drape over the rest. Short-rows at the back provide a bit of extra derrière coverage, and its tunic length makes it perfect for pairing with jeans or leggings. A duplicate stitch flower (or two) adds a pop of colour against a simple stockinette background.

Pattern Notes
Knit seamlessly from the bottom-up. A few short-rows at the back and some waist shaping provide a gentle A-line shape. Fronts and backs are separated at the underarms, knit back and forth separately, and then joined at the shoulders with a 3 needle bind-off. Stitches are picked up around the armholes and the sleeve cap is shaped with short-rows. Sleeve cuffs and hem are finished with a simple k1p1 ribbing and the neckline is finished with an I-cord bind-off. A pretty flower is added last with duplicate stitch.
A very special thanks to my test-knitters: nutti4, frisconator, and bdragonfly; and Heather Ross, who provided technical editing.
