Courtney Scarf
Though there is a ‘right side’, this scarf is attractive from either side. It can be made to any length you desire. I used a soft worsted weight yarn (Caron’s Simply Soft in Blue Mint #9608) for the turquoise one pictured. I’m currently knitting one with undyed alpaca that is a delight!
This is the worsted weight version of the Dream Catcher Scarf.
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Worsted weight Yarn (level 4) - 435 yards for 60” scarf, 500 yards for 70” length on
Needles - size 8 US
OR
DK weight yarn (level 3) - 500 - 600 yards
Needles - size 7 US
o You’ll need seven ring markers if you’re going to follow my ‘make it easier’ suggestion – 4 dark and 3 light colored
o A safety pin marker or bit of contrasting yarn to designate the beginning of the right side rows
o Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
o A pocket-sized spiral notebook is also helpful.
Skills needed
Knit, Purl, ability to work stitches as presented, using ring markers
The pattern includes many helpful hints, a chart, written instructions and lots of photographs. A variation of this pattern, Dream Catcher Scarf, is also available for Sock Weight yarn.
