I was looking for a quick project when I came up with the Cousteau Cables Cowl. It can be whipped up in an evening.

The cable and purl pattern is a multiple of 11 stitches, so your cowl size is up to you! The size shown uses 7 pattern repeats and is about 19” around unstretched.
