Couthie
Couthie (couth-ie)
A Scottish word meaning cosy, comfortable and not over complicated. If used to describe a person, it means sociable and friendly.
A perfect description of a knitter, and a perfect description for this shawl which is created in one piece and increases in size as you go. There is no limit to the size of the shawl other than the length of the yarn in your skein or ball. It can be knitted in any weight of yarn, and with any needle size that you prefer.
It is knitted in blocks of stocking stitch broken up with sections of drop stitch, creating zig zags of rainbows.
Perfect for any yarn that just doesn’t want to become anything else!
