Every weekend we drive past a field with cows and my daughter always loves looking at them. She started asking me for a cow hat a while ago but I put it off as I wasn’t quite sure how to do it. However she kept asking so after a lot of time spent looking at pictures of cows on the internet I made this. We are both very pleased with it.

The hat is knitted in the round on 4mm needles using DK yarn. The horns, ears and snout are knitted separately and sewn on and then features are embroidered. Finally black patches are swiss darned randomly. I chose swiss darning so it wouldn’t affect the stretchiness of the hat.
