Great quick knit, perfect for gift giving. The super bulky yarn makes it quick, but the cable makes it look a lot more complicated that it is.

This cowl is designed to fit close to the neck, that way there’s not a bunch of extra fabric you need to tuck into your coat. The cowl pictured here is lightly blocked, to keep some of that dimensionality in the cable and a tighter fit around the neck. A second test knit received a harsher block, resulting in a more drapey cowl that still fit nicely, but had a little extra fabric to tuck into a coat.

A note on Gauge I am a very loose knitter, and so I encourage you to swatch before casting on. With this design I tried to maximize the yardage of a single skein of A.S.A.P., so you may need to use your swatch yarn to finish the project. Two of my test knits had about 9-10 yards leftover.
