Cozy
This pattern came into being for several reasons, not the least of which was my desire to support an amazing organization here in my adopted home of Northampton, MA. Safe Passage has been helping survivors of domestic violence and their children since 1977 by offering them hope, support and resources as they heal and rebuild their lives. Since joining the team at WEBS, I have learned so much about Safe Passage and how they continue to do the work they do. The Hot Chocolate Run, which takes place here in Noho every December, is their main fund raising event of the year, and as running/walking for, well, any distance at all really, is not my strong suit, I thought the best way for me to contribute would be to create something with two sticks and some string. All the proceeds from this pattern, until December 4th, 2015, will go directly to Safe Passage.
I hope you enjoy knitting and staying warm and cozy in this cowl and mitts. The cowl is stretchy and will tuck nicely under a coat. The mitts are meant to be worn with negative ease - for example, I wear a large women’s glove but am quite comfortable in the smallest size of these mitts. Berroco’s Gusto is pretty lightweight for a super bulky yarn, and its thick and thin construction is lots of fun and quick to knit.
Thank you in advance for helping me to support this excellent charity, and as always, happy knitting!!
