Cozy Cabin Afghan
This super cozy sampler afghan makes a wonderful beginning knitter project as well as a quick knit for more experienced knitters. The afghan is worked in three panels which are seamed together after blocking. Stitches are then picked up along the edges and worked in a mitered garter stitch border. Afghan may easily be enlarged by adding extra squares but keep in mind this will increase yarn requirements. We used 384 yds. of a super bulky yarn in the Main Color; and 256 yds. each of two Contrasting Colors of a super bulky yarn on a size US #15 16” or 24” circular needle. We used Plymouth Encore Mega Colorspun and Plymouth Encore Mega for our super bulky yarn. Each square requires approx. 1 skein of Plymouth Encore Mega or Mega Colorspun or approx. 64 yds. of a similar weight yarn and 2 skeins or approx. 128 yds. for the border. Irresistible on a cold winter’s night or perfect around the campfire!
