Notions

• Stitch Marker for marking the beginning of round
• Darning Needle for seaming the knitted pieces together
• ½ yard or 2 fat quarters (18 inch x 22 inch or 45.7 cm x 55.9 cm) of cotton fabric for the purse lining (I used quilting cotton)
• 1 yard of Pellon 808 Craft Fuse Interfacing (36 inch x 20 inch or 91.4 cm x 50.8 cm)
• All-purpose thread that coordinates with your yarn choice
• Sewing needle for hand sewing
• Straight pins or clips for holding the pieces together while you sew 2 D rings (size 1-3/16”, 1-¼”, or 30 mm)
• 14-inch or 35.5 cm zipper
• Crossbody strap that can hook to the D rings
• Fabric scissors or a rotary cutter
• Iron and ironing board for attaching the interfacing and pressing seams if desired

US 9/5.5 mm circulars (32” or longer) for magic loop or double pointed needles

You do not need a sewing machine to make this purse! My first 2 attempts were made completely by hand using a running stitch for everything. A sewing machine will be faster of course, but anyone can make the purse. The purse is constructed in a way to hide most of the stitching, so you do not need to be a perfectionist to have a beautiful purse.
