Cozy Cocoa Mittens
Cozy up, my lovely knitters, because a new Cozy cuppa pattern is here! This time we are knitting up a cozy cup of cocoa decorated with evergreen trees and topped with a sprig of holly. The palms of this beautiful design is a gingham plaid, and the thumb features a tall pine tree. These are knit with dk/worsted weight yarn, so they are EXTRA warm!
Materials Needed:
• Light worsted weight yarn in 2
colors (less than 100g of each will
be used)
• Recommended needle sizes:
o US size 5 circular needles—
for a Ladies’ size Small
Gauge: 5 ½ sts per 1 inch
(6 sts in height)
o US size 6 circular needles –
for a Ladies’ size
Large/Medium
Gauge: 6 sts per 1 inch (6
sts in height)
• Scrap yarn
• Tapestry Needle
• Removable stitch marker or 2
stitch marker rings
Skill Level: Intermediate
Skills Required: Knit, purl, knit in the
round, stranded colorwork, afterthought
thumb, yarn over, increasing,
decreasing, carrying floats
These are knit from light worsted wool. If your worsted leans towards the bulky side, testers found it helpful to go down a needle size to obtain gauge. As with most patterns, gauge is more important than needle size, so play around until you get the fit you want for your mitten.
