The Cozy Companion Sweater is an easy, versatile pattern that utilizes your pet’s measurements for a snug, tailored fit that keeps them cozy and secure. Lightweight and easy to put on and off, it’s perfect for the windy autumnal days when your pet needs an extra layer of warmth!
Difficulty Level: Easy
Terminology: American crochet terminology.
Materials Needed:
Yarn: Alize Burcum Batik OR any other weight 4 yarn. I recommend using soft acrylic.
The yardage depends on the size of your pet, but here are some estimates:
- The pink sweater from the instruction pictures used 372 m (407 yds) of Alize Burcum Batik 2164.
- Cover picture sweater (Miniature Pinscher size) used 189 m (207 yds) of Alize Burcum Batik 4340.
Hook: 5mm
Scissors
Yarn & sewing needles
A flat button (2-3 cm or 1-1.5 in wide)
Sizing
The sweater is made-to-measure and can fit any dog or cat.
A. Base of the ears → base of the tail
B. Shoulders → base of the tail
C. Around the neck
D. Around the widest part of the chest
Abbreviations & stitches used:
St / sts - stitch / stitches
Sk - skip
Ch - chain
Sl st - slip stitch
Sc - single crochet
Hdc - half double crochet
Dec - decrease
FLO - front loop only
BLO - back loop only
