Cozy Little Mitts
The Cozy Little Mitts are designed specifically to make something pretty with your leftover fingering yarns. We all have those leftovers in our stash, waiting for the right project. The simple lace design makes these pretty cute and elegant, something you can wear for an evening out or just if you want to feel a little fancy. This pattern is meant to be a fun and easy knit with some simple lace and cables to keep it interesting.
YARN
Use any fingering based yarn you like, I used some leftover Titus 4ply, by Eden Cottage Yarns.
You will need a maximum of (Grams / Yards / Meters) 30 / 120 / 131
NEEDLES
2,5 US (3 mm) either on DPNs or magic loop whichever you prefer. Or size to get gauge
GAUGE
Stockinette in the round and measured after blocking: 28 st per 4 inch (10 cm)
SIZES
2 Adult sizes to fit hands
Size 1: 7 inches measured around
(Size 2): 8 inches measured around
NOTIONS
3 stitch marker; 1 for BOR and 2 for thumb gusset marking, scissors, darning needle, a piece of thread (similar weight) to hold stitches and a cable needle.
YARN SUGGESTIONS
any fingering weight yarn will do but do note that any heavy speckled yarn or multicolored yarn will make the lace and cable section less “readable” in your final result. A one colour, or more tonal yarn will increase the readability. (Ofcourse, if you want to use a speckled yarn or multicolored yarn just go for it!)
NOTE: a smoother yarn will make the design more crisp and elegant looking.
