I designed this little cowl for my mini dachshund pup in celebration of her half (6-month) birthday. And in this spirit, I offer it as a gift to you and yours. It’s quick, fun, and super cute. I hope you and your little (or big) pup love it as much as we do!

CONSTRUCTION
This cowl is worked flat in one piece lengthwise, allowing you to tailor the circumference to your pup.

SIZES Short (Tall)

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Approx. 3 ⅜ inches/8.5 cm (5 ⅛ inches/13 cm) long and 9 ½ inches/24 cm (9 ½ inches/24 cm) in circumference. The final circumference can be modified to meet your pup’s measurements. For a cowl with a wider or narrower neck circumference, adjust the number of repeats completed as described in the pattern; yardage requirements will change accordingly. Size tall is recommended for bigger pups.

YARN
Yak by Lang Yarns (70% Merino, 30% Yak, 131 yds/120 m per 50 gms) shown in colorway 60. Approx. 20 yards/18 meters (35 yards/32 meters) of Yak or worsted weight yarn.

NEEDLES
One pair of straight needles or one 24 inch/60 cm
circular needle, US 7/4.5 mm or size needed to obtain gauge listed.

GAUGE
Approx. 9.5 stitches and 16 rows in 2 inches/5 cm in garter stitch.

OTHER MATERIALS
Crochet hook, waste yarn, tapestry needle, stitch marker

Note. Please always keep a watchful eye on pets wearing handknits.
