On chilly autumn evenings I take pleasure in snuggling my feet into heavy, cushy socks that fit, but without the negative ease that allows daytime socks to be worn inside shoes. I want my cozy Slipper socks to allow a bit of wiggle room for my toes without being loose or sloppy. This is accomplished by using an aran or worsted weight yarn knitted with smaller gauge needles than those recommended on the yarn band, resulting in a denser fabric. Like many cozy, comforting accessories, Cozy Tootsies Slipper Socks are elegant in their simplicity, an example of form following function. This is a project that will work up quickly. Additionally, it is a great introduction to sock construction due yarn weight and needle size producing stitches that are easy to see and maneuver.
