ABOUT THE PATTERN
Cozy Winters was inspired by cold, snowy winter weather in Montana: one moment it’s heavily snowing, and the next the sky is clear. The cowl features seven different sections that create a faded texture representing varying snow levels (from whiteout to flurries). This creates a fun, simple, and engaging knit. Once the cowl is complete, you can see the snow falling from the sky (at the top of the cowl) and accumulating on the ground (at the bottom of the cowl).

The cowl features a tapered design to help it lay flat, show more of the design, and make it easier to style. Learn more about the design inspiration, knitting experience, and wearing experience here.

Bottom Circumference: 23 (26, 29.5, 32) in / 58 (65.5, 73.5, 80) cm
Top Circumference: 20 (22, 24, 26) in / 50 (55, 60, 65) cm
Length: 7 (9.5, 11.5, 14) in / 17.5 (23.5, 29, 35) cm

The light blue and gray design sample is side Adult Medium. The teal design sample is size Adult Large.

YARN
130 (185, 250, 320) yds / 120 (170, 230, 290) m; 60 (80, 110, 140) grams DK weight yarn

Designed using Polka Dot Sheep Yarns Stumptown DK in the Night King colorway. Find color recommendations and alternate yarn suggestions here.

GAUGE
16 stitches, 24 rounds = 4 / 10 cm in stockinette stitch
18 sts, 28 rounds = 4 / 10 cm in seed stitch

TOOLS
3.5 mm (US size 4) or size needed to obtain gauge circular or double-pointed needles, long enough to hold the cowl circumference
Darning needle
