CPAP Hose Cozy
I’m making a new one, current model is due for retirement! LOL Will add photos as I get through the steps.
For winter “Rain-out” or condensation issues. I also like to keep my humidity high, so hose covers are a god-send! But i can make thicker, more durable covers with inexpensive thread than buying a thin fleece cover and paying for shipping!
This is a super fast-knit project that can add a personal touch for a CPAP user you love (including yourself). Start simple and you find that getting fancier is fun!
Take some time to make a sample, 1” or 2” to try on the hose in order to get your gage and style correct. These instructions are for felting though you may, for ease, choose to leave it knit-plain (St-stitch), try using a ribbing pattern to get a more snug but flexible fit, or mix it up with a stitch you find in a dictionary!
Again, I like to felt this project, so I suggested my favorite felting yarn and I recommend knitting loosely and longer than you need to account for shrinkage in the felting process. You may also want to try larger needles if it still comes out too tight. You may also add a few stitches if your tension is naturally tighter.
Tight results are not terrible - Try sliding a plastic bag over the rubber connector on the end of the CPAP hose - this always helps getting your cozy onto the hose!
