Craft Your Luck Bag
One of the things I have loved getting to do while living in Rochester, MN is getting to attend Zombie Knitpocalypse - an Annual Knitting Retreat hosted by the Stockinette Zombies. Each year they host a Knit Along (KAL) around the theme of the year. For 2025, the theme is Lucky #13 since it is the 13th year of the retreat. The two teams for the KAL are team Shamrock and team Horseshoe. I designed this bag as an homage to this year’s retreat and its teams. It is perfect to hold stitch stoppers, markers, or even some dry lavender to keep those project bags smelling nice.

These bags are constructed bottom up with circular cast on. Once the bottom of the bag is constructed, a purl row allows a nice fold line to delineate the bottom from the sides. This allows the bag to sit up when in use. Three charts (and their inverted versions) are provided. You may choose your own unique combination of charts to make your bag unique. The ribbed top of the bag includes eyelets to allow for a drawstring that keeps the bag close when not in use. Additionally, instructions for an optional bag liner are included to protect the colorwork floats when using the bag.
This pattern was written to use FlexiFlips, which is similar to using the Magic Loop. Small circulars or DPNs can be used as well. If you want to use small circulars, it is recommended to start with DPNs or FlexiFlips until the bottom of the bag is finished.
Instructions for two sizes of bag are included. However, the size of the bag is dependent on the weight of yarn used.
