Crafty Notions is a super cute pattern of craft images worked in mosaic overlay crochet. There are 12 main designs and 2 divider designs. It has been created so that you can work the blanket as in the pictured sample, or easily re-arrange the images as you wish, or use the individual designs for other items such as cushions, bags etc. All 12 main designs are the same size.

They are beginner friendly mosaic designs as there are no special stitches, just SC and DC.

The pattern is for a small lap blanket worked in DK/8ply yarn and measures approx. 90cm x 117cm (35 ¼” x 46”). However, it can be worked in a number of sizes with details about this in the pattern.

Some testers worked their blankets using the reverse method with the same image on the reverse. See ‘projects’ to have a look at their gorgeous makes.

Included in the pattern:

  • A full-size chart and full written instructions
  • Individual charts and written instruction
  • All charts are in a separate PDF
  • Instructions on mosaic overlay techniques and chart reading
  • A list of yarn amounts and colours for each section of the pictured blanket (pink background)
  • Details on how to change the size of your blanket
  • BONUS PATTERN: Crafty WIP bag pattern (2 extra PDFs). Only Crafty Notions will show up at checkout.

Any yarn can be used for this pattern. Use the recommended hook for the yarn. Size may change depending on yarn, hook size and tension. If you haven’t done mosaic crochet before there are many You Tube videos to help. As an example, search for Beginners Guide to Mosaic Crochet.

When choosing yarn, it is important to choose contrasting colours so the pattern stands out.
