Cranky / Calm Chameleon
Chameleons are intensely appealing reptiles that can change colour. Irritate a calm, green chameleon and it can change to a threatening red. Their famously long tongues are used to catch insects but you don’t have to add one if you don’t want to. With a curled up tail this is about 8 inches (20cm) long. I sewed one up with the curly tail and left the other unsewn to wrap around things.
To knit this you need:
- Pair of 3mm needles
- Pair of 3mm dpns
- Pair of 2mm dpns (for the fly, optional)
- Tapestry needle for sewing up
- Stuffing material
The yarns I used were:
Main red yarn Lipstick (Stylecraft Special 100% acrylic DK): 25g (150 yds/m)
Main green yarn meadow (Stylecraft Special 100% acrylic DK): 25g (150m/ yds)
A few yds/m of pink DK yarn (for the tongue, optional)
Scrap of black 4 ply yarn (for the fly, optional)
but you can choose your own!
