Crannog Cowl
Crannog Cowl is an asymmetric triangular-shape. It’s knit flat, starting with a provisional cast on and worked in garter stripes, then joined to the cast on stitches using a three-needle bind off. The remainder of the stitches are cast off using an i-cord bind off in a contrasting colour. If you do not wish to use the provisional cast on/three needle bind off, instructions are given for working the cowl without. The size of the cowl can easily be made bigger and directions for this are included.
Size: Measurements taken after blocking (easily adjusted)
Neck circumference 20.5“/ 52 cm
Depth to point 14.5“/ 37 cm
Needles:
4.5mm (US 7) needles (or size needed to get gauge)
Crochet Hook for provisional cast on (size not important)
Extra needle for three-needle bind off
Gauge:
19 sts x 34 rows per 4 inches using 4.5 mm (US 7) needles
Measured in garter stitch after blocking (or sized needed to meet gauge). While gauge is not critical for this design it will impact the amount of yarn needed.
