CrAzY WeeKeNd Cal

You know the feeling when things suddenly start to happen. The 1st of May weekend, in self isolation, you just casually throw an idea to your crochet friend of designing something together - a Mandala maybe? And a few minutes later you get pictures on your mobile: A start of a mandala and pattern explanation how to make the first two rounds sent with text: “Here we go! Your turn, two rounds, please, I’m waiting!”

This is how this design started and here is the result. We named it after this crazy time we are living in and it’s called CrAzY MaY Mandala. We learned a lot in making this. Not only could we practice our skills in writing a pattern in English, but also appreciate crochet friendship and also gain great confidence from giving and receiving recognition when working together.

We took a step towards the new normal. As much as we long for the social contact face to face, our crochet friends, knit cafés, etc., we can still gather and make things together - even designs - virtually!
