The Crazy Quilt pattern is quick and creative, a great way to use up tidbits of yarn. The sweater, inspired by a 19th-century quilt, has black sleeves and patches of black over the front and back, filled in with a multitude of different colors and embroidered squares. For a really special effect, outline each block in yellow yarn after knitting, using a variety of stitches—blanket, cross, running, etc. This was a typical method of embellishing a Crazy quilt.
