Crazy Rib Hat#3 Sunspot Stocking Cap
If you love stranded knitting you will love this hat!
This charted pattern uses a variation on corrugated ribbing to create a graphic pattern that’s fun to knit. The color effect is achieved by using a yarn with a long changing colorway and dividing it into 2 balls -- using one from the inside of the skein and one from the outside, (or using 2 skeins, like I did on this sample, and having enough left to make another hat).
Due to the large pattern repeat, size adjustments are made by adjusting the needle size. Baby size calls for size 2 US/ 2.75mm needle (circular), Toddler uses size 3US (3.25MM), Child uses US4 (3.5mm) Adult uses size 3US(3.5) and has an additional repeat.
The original hat shown in fall colors was knit in Poems Sock; however, after hearing from customers that they were not able to get my gauge with the Poems, I recommend the Kauni over the Poems as it is slightly thicker.
