This project is for the experienced fair isle knitter who wants to spread their wings and have some fun by putting their own fair isle ideas into a formula for creating a well proportioned and balanced bag. The possibilities are endless, limited only by your imagination! The instructions given here are guidelines only, to give the bag a basic structure. Your can change things up in a variety of ways to make the bag your very own unique creation!

This pattern does not include any fair isle design patterns. The designs on the pictured bags are NOT included. the pictured bags are intended to show you what has been done and what is possible by using this pattern. You can find many fair isle patterns in books, on Pinterest, and on Ravelry.

The pattern gives you a structure within which to create your own design. It divides the bag into sections to help you plan a bottom, a lead up to the focal design, the focal area, a top with a drawstring, and it also includes instructions for lining the bag if you so desire.

Instructions given are for two weights of yarn - fingering and DK, but any yarn can be used. I recommend you make a swatch to determine the size of needles to use. Your final fabric should be dense but not rigid and also not floppy.
