Creating a Straight Seam in Half Double Crochet When Working in the Round
by Deja Joy
This pattern is
available for free.
f you’ve worked in the round in half double crochet, you know that when you join in the round you will inevitably get a slanted seam.
I unfortunately am here to tell you, after many different attempts, I only found one way to create the straight seam (though it may not be exactly what you were hoping for), and a few ways to mask or work around it.
This video tutorial will show you my different attempts at creating the straight seam, why it slants, and the three different ways I’ve found to minimize the seam, skip it all together, or make the straight (but definitely not invisible) seam.
