I don’t really know how to adjust the pattern to add stitches for different hand sizes while keeping the pattern inline, so when I want to make a size for smaller or bigger hands I just use smaller or bigger needles. I have been using a chunky yarn but I was able to use US Size 6 DPN with out any issues of the stitches being too tight, I probably wouldn’t use anything smaller though.
