Twin-set cardigan from Stitchcraft, September 1966.

Made with 16 / 17 / 18 (1 oz) balls of Patons 101 Double Courtelle (100% acrylic). UK No. 11, 10 and 8 needles (3.25, 3.75 and 4.0 mm). 6 buttons.

To fit 35-36 / 37-38 / 39-40 inch bust. Length from shoulders: 22 / 22 / 22.5 inches. Sleeve seam, 15.5 /16 / 16 inches.

22 sts / 30 rows in 4 inches on size 8 / 4.0 mm needles.

Made in pieces from the bottom up and seamed, then the shawl collar. The twisted stitches are made with a k2tog but not slipping off needle, then k the 1st stitch again and slip both off. The twisted-stitch pattern is on the back, front and shoulders.

There’s a matching short-sleeved jumper for the twin-set.
